It didn't take us long to find a perfect spot in Nice to toast the beginning of our exciting trip.
Old Nice
Views from the top of the Park
DAY TWO- Nice to Antibes to Cannes
Cheers to Champagne in Antibes
Drinking in the streets of Cannes, we are so classy!
We missed the Cannes Film Festival by a week, however, a few celebs decided to made an early appearance.
The promenade.
Back in Nice
Place Massena
DAY THREE- off to Villefranche-sur-Mer aka Heaven on earth!
We took a bus 15 minutes East of Nice and were not dissapointed when we got off and saw this...
A walk up into the castle on the hill brought us back to our Delta Gamma days.
Starting our hike around Cap Ferrat, looking back on Villefranch-sur-Mer
Our hike ended in the beautiful little town of Beaullieu-sur-Mer
Back in Nice, we decided to have happy hour at the famous Hotel Negresco...
...it was hard to tell if it was a hotel or a museum.
DAY FOUR- we rented a car and trecked to St. Tropez. The yachts were bigger then the buildings.
One of my favourite lunches at Le Det Vin hidden in the tiny, cobblestone streets. The boys washed down their raw meet with beer. SORRY DAD! At least they are still both alive and kicking!
The steps up to the Citadelle
And we were welcomed by a peacock.
View of St Tropez
Walk #2 was supposed to be short and sweet and drop us right on the most beautiful beaches of St Tropez...unfortunately after an hour of walking, slightly defeated, we found out the map was a bit misleading and had to turn around.
In an attempt to not spend a million Euros at dinner, we picked up baguettes and wine and played Hockey on the balcony.
DAY FIVE- we were determined to find the Pampelonne Beaches, so we jumped in the car and spent the morning drinking cappacinos and roasting in the sun. Then made our way up to Aix-en-Provence.
Zanzibar- the perfect Italian outdoor cafe for lunch.
After lunch we headed towards Aix-en-Provence, with a few stops on the way
The streets of Aix
DAY SIX- Thanks to my parents gift, our 4th wedding anniversary was spent in the vineyards of the Cotes du Rhone. We started in Gigondas, did a wine pairing lunch in Vacqueyras and ended with Cateauneuf -du-Pape. Our guide taught us everything we possibly need to know about "Terrior"- the difference between wine growing and wine making.
DAY SEVEN- we enjoyed everything that the charming, university town of Aix had to offer.
Starting with the morning market...
moving on to happy hour and more hockey on the Cours Mirabeau...
and finally ending our last night as a foursome with an amazing meal.
DAY EIGHT- after many hugs, goodbyes and a few tears, Kate and Ryan headed to Paris, and Josh and I moved on to the walled city of Avignon.
Palace of the Popes
Parc de Rochers des Doms
It was an absolutely amazing trip with the best company anyone could ask for!
