Switzerland

We spent our first Christmas overseas in Switzerland.  We decided to take 10 days and see as much as humanly possible.  Our trip started in Geneva then took us to Lucerne, Engelberg, Zurich and finally Basel.  It was really hard to be away from family and friends over the holidays but our trusty computer made the trip with us, so we were able to skype.
  • We pounded the pavement and did every recommended tour in each city
  • saw an amazing art museum
  • played life size checkers in a park
  • had mulled wine at the top of Mont Blanc
  • took morning runs taking in all the sites around us
  • visited tons of coffee and wine bars
  • went to a Christmas Day Church service that was in French
  • got snowed on, rained on and pooped on by pigeons
  • had an unbelievable 9 course dinner Christmas Eve (Josh had 4 of mine)
  • played Apples to Apples with friends from Dallas in Zurich
  • attended a Christmas Day Dinner party hosted by a bunch of Brazilians in Geneva (random)
  • skied entirely out of the boundaries for two days straight
  • had a coffee and bailey's at the highest bar in Europe
  • played UNO in bars, parks, trains etc.
  • watched a 45 minute fireworks show on New Years Eve in Zurich
  • made new friends everywhere we went
  • got spa treatments overlooking the Swiss Alps, (and saw far too much European skin in the "Naked Zone" at our Engelberg Resort)
  • attended the opening of the "hottest" club in Zurich (and partied like we were 18)
  • spun around in circles on a Merry-Go-Round for an hour on Christmas day
  • walked down (not shopped down) one of the most notorious shopping streets in Europe
  • and the list could go on and on and on
We truly enjoyed everything that Switzerland had to offer and look forward to going back!

And the pictures start with Geneva...
