WOW

It is amazing what makes the front page of our little Guernsey Press...
70,000 people. I think we should start to panic now.

Easter Egg Decorating

One of my friends had me over to decorate Easter eggs.  In Guernsey, you don't just decorate, you actually blow out the yolk of the egg so that you can hang them once they are dried.  Not the most appealing thing to do or see, but the end product was pretty impressive!

Paris for Easter, No Better Place to Be!

During the months of April and May, there is a Bank Holiday almost every week, if not more.  We took advantage of the time off and took the ferry over to St. Malo and then the train to Paris for a long weekend.

Night cap in St. Malo.

The Opera house- neighborhood of our hotel.

Arc de Triomphe

Flame of Remembrance has burned daily since 1923.

Flowers in full bloom along the Champs-Elysees.

Jardin des Tuileries

Josh catching up on his reading...there were no CFA books allowed on this trip!

Entering the Louvre

Always good to see in a big city!

Break from all the walking and a toast to Easter weekend and a beautiful city!

Then it was off to the Eiffel Tower.

We quickly climbed the stairs to the first level to see the views,

then met up with our bike tour to see the city at night.

We watched the sun set over Notre Dame.

Saturday morning we took the metro to Montmarte.

Basilique du Sacre- Coeur, at the very top of the hill.

This amazing street artist eventually climbed to the top of the lantern and juggled the ball with his feel while hanging in the air.

Gorgeous gardens in the back of the church overlooking the city.

Back in the heart of the city, we tried to stop by Jardin du Luxembourg before dinner in St. Germain des Pres- little did we know that it actually has a closing time.  We arrived 10 minutes too late.

St. Sulpice

Easter morning we went on a run and stumbled upon this beautiful church,

then stopped by one of our favorite coffee shops for an espresso.

On our way to brunch we stopped by Centre Georges Pompidou- most believe it is the eyesore of the Marais neighborhood, but the museum contains one of the largest collections of modern art in the world.

St. Eustache- 2nd largest church in Paris.

We ended the trip with the perfect traditional brunch in the Marais neighborhood.  We can't wait to get back to Paris!  Happy Easter everyone.  XO
